Emerald Oil & Gas NL is a petroleum exploration company with projects in USA and Western Australia. Emerald holds interests in a large acreage position in the Niobrara Continuous Shale Oil accumulation located in the Green River Basin in Colorado and Wyoming, as well as conventional oil and gas exploration and production operations in Kentucky and Texas.

Corporate Strategy

Emerald plans to appraise and develop its Niobrara shale oil assets in the Green River Basin, where it holds a 45% interest in the GRBJV, which controls approximately 80,000 gross acres of oil and gas leases. Technological advances in drilling and completion techniques, particularly multiple fracture stimulations in horizontal wells, have unlocked the significant resource potential of the Niobrara shale in the nearby DJ Basin as well as other shale oil plays such as the Bakken Shale and Eagleford Shale.

Emerald plans to deliver value from Rocky Mountain shale oil resources for Emerald shareholders. Value will be extracted through drilling programs designed to maximise reserve potential, production performance from new wells, and through additional mineral lease acquisitions to consolidate and grow its acreage position in the Rocky Mountains.

Emerald plans to use its position in the Green River Basin assets as a foundation on which to build a company focused on unconventional resource plays in Rocky Mountain region.
